Carol J. Deats

Carol J. Deats, born on September 23, 1946, in Somerville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2026, in Washington, NJ. A cherished figure in her community and a dedicated professional, Carol devoted much of her career to clerical work for the Hunterdon County Adult Education program.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Carol was a talented artist, finding joy in making ceramics and painting, which reflected her vibrant personality. An avid bowler, she spent countless hours at the lanes, where her competitive spirit and her love for the game brought her happiness and companionship.

Carol took great pride in her family. Carol was a loving mother to her son, Robert L. Moran, III, of Washington, NJ, and sister and sister-in-law to William Evans and his wife Tenny Evans of Connecticut. She also leaves behind her cherished nephews, Tim Christie and his wife Hanna of Martinsville, NJ and Jamie Flowers of Easton, PA, who held a special place in her heart.

Carol's memory will live on through her family and friends, and she will be remembered as someone who brought creativity, warmth, and joy into the lives of those around her. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Deats, Sr., and her first husband, Robert L. Moran, Jr., both of whom were significant figures in her life.

As we honor Carol J. Deats, we celebrate her legacy of kindness, creativity, and dedication to her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cremations services will be held privately under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial in the family plot at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ will also be private.
