Carol A. Keating, age 74 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Maria A. and Henry P. Gatti. Mrs. Keating graduated from Hunterdon Central High School and the Mandl School in New York City. She lived in Hunterdon County, NJ since 1950 and Flemington since 1968.
Mrs. Keating worked as a Field Representative for the Hunterdon County Office on aging and as Coordinator for the Senior Health Insurance Assistance Program which provided advocates for Medicaid recipients. She was an original member of the Hunterdon County Mediation Access Partnership which helps those in financial need obtain prescription drugs at little or no cost.
Mrs. Keating served as a volunteer mediator for the Superior Court of New Jersey in its Community Dispute Resolution Program and volunteered for other civic, youth athletic and charitable organizations.
She served on the Hunterdon County Republican Committee.
Surviving are her husband Alexander F. Keating, Jr.; a daughter, Christine Gallant; a son, Alexander F. Keating, III; four grandchildren, Ryan and Julia Gallant and Ashley and Ann Marie Keating; a sister, Linda Kertesz, many nieces and nephews and her devoted friend and caregiver, Deborah Villon.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. James DeVries will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 from 7:00-9:00 PM in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Flemington First Aid and Rescue Squad, 26 Route 12, Flemington, NJ 08822.
