Bruce Newrock

Bruce Newrock, a longtime resident of Hunterdon County, NJ, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on August 16, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY, Bruce dedicated his career to serving as a construction inspector and supervisor for the New Jersey Department of Transportation in Trenton, NJ. He found immense satisfaction in his work, which spanned many years and contributed to the establishment and maintenance of vital infrastructure in the state.

Throughout his life, Bruce embodied the values of commitment and service, both in his professional endeavors and in his personal life. He is remembered not only for his professional contributions but also for his deep love and devotion to his family.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Florence (Richman) Newrock; his son, Seth Newrock; his daughter, Melissa Newrock; and his sister, Leslie. Additionally, Bruce is survived by several cousins and close friends who cherished his companionship and the warmth of his presence.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Newrock, and his mother, Sylvia (Scharf) Newrock.

Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main St, Flemington, NJ. A funeral service, officiated by Rabbi Eric Cohen, will immediately follow from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, also at the funeral home. Bruce will be laid to rest at Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, where interment will take place from 4:00 PM to 4:15 PM.

As we remember Bruce Newrock, we celebrate a life characterized by love, commitment, and service. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
