Bernice Marie Guziejewski was born on December 17, 1949, in Newark, NJ, she lived most of her life in Hunterdon County NJ, until passing away in Harmony Township NJ on June 2, 2021.
Bernice Korski was the daughter of the late Bernard and Olga Korski, her Polish immigrant mother, making Bernice a first-generation American. She was married for seven years to the love of her life, Edward Guziejewski, and will now be freed to join alongside him once again in the Heavenly kingdom.
Bernice is survived by her brother, Dennis Korski of Florida and her sister, Dorothy Kurz, her four children; Bernadette Sissick of Hackettstown NJ, Cecilia Hudson of Nazareth PA, Julie Diaz of Hellertown PA, and David Hudson of Flemington NJ, as well as her ten loving grandchildren; Amber Hudson, Brandon Kosiarski, Joseph Redmond, Taylor Redmond, Cynthia Diaz, Lorena Diaz, Daniel Diaz, Santina Hudson, Kaitlyn Sissick, & Robert Sissick, and her six great-grandchildren; Naomi, Hailie, Logan, Kayden, Taylor, & Christopher Hudson.
She was a Communicant for many years at St. Magdalen Church in Flemington and lived by her Catholic faith her entire life.
“Grandma Bernice” was a woman of loving nature who enjoyed bright, sun-filled days consisting of leisurely activities and treasured the quality time spent with loved ones and her beloved cat, Pearl. Her family and friends will celebrate her life and the many doors it opened for us who survive her today. Her family will carry on with the memories of her good name, continue to break the chains she herself broke through, so all future generations may learn, and ultimately, relish in the beauty that was her life. From the good times to the not-so-good, beginning with the life of Bernice, and through until the end for all of those who had the good fortune to know her.
A Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by the Rev. Kenneth Brighenti, PhD, will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington NJ. Calling hour will be Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.
