Barry E. Day

Barry E. Day, a cherished husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at the Avow Hospice Center in Naples, Florida, at the age of 74. Born on May 17, 1951, in Morristown, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Gordon E. and Louise A. (Kolshorn) Day. Barry spent the majority of his life in the Garden State, residing in various towns including Livingston, South Somerville, Washington Township, and most notably, Flemington, where he lived for thirty-six years before relocating to Florida approximately eight years ago.

With a remarkable 40-year career at the Xerox Corporation in Princeton, New Jersey, Barry established himself as a trusted senior service technician, known for his dedication and professionalism. His colleagues knew him as a highly capable and reliable individual—traits that extended beyond his career into every aspect of his life.

Barry was deeply involved in his community, particularly in the realm of youth sports. He was a devoted participant in Flemington-Raritan Baseball, assisting as a coach and lending his support to young players, especially his sons, Jason and Justin. His nurturing spirit shone through as he guided them, demonstrating his unwavering commitment both on and off the field.

An incredible master of trades, Barry's talents were evident in the numerous home projects he completed with his own hands. 

Surviving Barry is his beloved wife of 50 years, Jane (Huselton) Day, whom he married on April 12, 1975. He also leaves behind his son, Jason Day, and his devoted pets, Jaxon and Truffle. Barry is remembered fondly by his brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Carol Day, and his sister and brother-in-law, Laurel and Richard Gaudio. He is also survived by his loving in-laws—James and Mary Rose Huselton, John and Patricia Huselton, and Joseph and Paula Huselton.

Barry was predeceased by his son, Justin Day, who passed away in 2020, along with his siblings, Judith Day and Richard Day. He is now reunited with them in eternal rest.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Cherryville Mountainview Cemetery, located at 596 Cherryville Road in Flemington, New Jersey. The service will commence at 11:00 AM, followed by interment, next to his son, at 11:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the life of Barry E. Day, a man whose kindness and craftsmanship left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
