Arthur P. Lentini, Sr., age 93 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Ringoes, NJ, November 30, 1927, son of the late Frank and Amanda Housman Lentini, Art was a lifelong resident of the Flemington area.
He served with the US Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
Art formerly owned and operated Lentini Auto Salvage, Copper Hill, NJ and then owned and operated Art’s Radiator in Flemington, NJ since 1960.
He was a founding member of the Raritan Township Fire Co. and proudly wore badge #1 and was honored by the fire company for his sixty years of service to the Raritan Township community. Art also was a founding member of the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad.
Art enjoyed fishing at the New Jersey shore and traveling in his motor home. He enjoyed having ice cream, especially banana splits with his great-grandson, Luc.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Janet Fink Lentini, who died in 1988, his son-in-law, William Hindak in 2015, his companion Irene Sweeney in 2018, as well as his brother, Frank Lentini, and his sister, Grace Parks.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Hindak, of Hampton, NJ; a son, Arthur P. Lentini, Jr, of Raritan Township, NJ; two grandchildren Lynn Dipple and her husband, Jeff, and Karen Navoa and her husband, Brant, and a great-grandson, Luc Navoa, as well as his brother, Fred Lentini, of Florida.
Raritan Township Fire Co. will hold funeral services on Monday, July 26, 2021, at 12:30 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday 9:30 AM-12:30 PM at the funeral home.
