Hillsborough, NJ

Antonina "Nina" Guerriero, born on December 17, 1925, in Montclair, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2025, in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Nina lived a rich and fulfilling life, marked by love, family, and a deep commitment to her community.

A graduate of Montclair High School, Nina worked for several years at the Office of Dependency Benefits for the U.S. Army. However, she found her greatest joy as a proud homemaker. Nina's warmth and friendliness were evident to everyone she met, as she cherished the moments spent with family and friends. Her love for music was unparalleled; she could often be found singing out loud, bringing smiles to the faces of those around her. Her fondness for the majestic voice of Luciano Pavarotti, especially in songs like "Che Bella Cosa," became a hallmark of her vibrant spirit.

In 1954, Nina married her beloved husband, Patrick Guerriero. The couple played an integral role in their community, notably dedicating their time to the Vista Program of the Peace Corps at Sacred Heart Church in Vailsburg, NJ. Nina's contributions extended into her later years when she became a Welcome Ambassador at the Senior Center in Bridgewater, serving in this role from 1994 until 2020. In her younger years, she was also a proud member of the Columbiettes at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in South Orange, NJ.

Throughout her life, Nina exhibited creativity through her remarkable talent as an oil painter, infusing vibrancy and passion into her art. Her beloved family and friends will remember her for her lively personality and the joy she brought into their lives.

She is survived by her cherished children, Mary Anne and Michael Cowan of Milford, NJ, Barbara Guerriero-Flites and Mohamed Flites of Princeton, NJ, and Therese Guerriero of Bridgewater, NJ. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister, Lucy Anello of Nutley, NJ, and her niece, Michelle George, as well as her nephew, Jerry Meola.

Nina was preceded in death by her beloved husband Patrick, devoted parents, Giuseppe and Carmella (Sardo) Anello, along with her brother, Anthony Anello, and her sister, Josephine Meola.

Nina's legacy will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched with her kindness and love. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on June 27, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Bernard of Clairvaux RC Church, 500 U.S. 22, Bridgewater, NJ 08807, followed by interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair, NJ.
