Anne Mae Alpaugh, age 101 years, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown, PA.
Born in Fairmount, NJ, September 3, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Anna Mae (Hendershot) Smith. She was nearly a lifelong Hunterdon County, NJ resident and spent most of her life in Flemington, NJ.
Throughout her life she was a homemaker but was also employed for eighteen years as a nurse’s aide at the Union Forge Nursing Home, Clinton Township, NJ.
Additionally, she was a fifty-five-year volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ, formerly active with the Amwell Valley Rescue Squad, Ringoes, NJ and past member of both the Kirkpatrick Memorial Church, Ringoes, NJ and the Flemington Baptist Church, Flemington Borough, NJ.
She was predeceased by her husband of twenty-four years, the late Henry “Hank” Alpaugh, who died in 2001.
Surviving are her three children, “Butch” Johnson, Jr. of Baptistown, NJ, Dorothy Lopshire and her husband Howard of Ringoes, NJ, and George Johnson of Kingwood Township, NJ; two stepchildren Gloria Christensen and her husband Alex of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Robin Alpaugh of Pennsylvania; as well as two grandchildren.
Graveside services, officiated by Rev. David Errickson, will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
