On November 2, 2024, Ann M. Pyzik, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her home. Ann was born November 1, 1945 in Bronx, NY to the late Cornelius and Antoinette (Burgert) McGeechan.
Ann grew up in Pelham, NY where she graduated from Pelham Memorial High School in 1963.
Ann's professional journey began with her work at Mobil Oil in the late 1960’s. In 1971, Ann put her professional career on hold to start a family.
In 1990, Ann’s career began at Raritan Valley Community College where she later earned her Associate's Degree in 2005 at the age of 60. After 27 years as an Administrative Assistant with Raritan Valley Community College Ann retired to enjoy her golden years.
Ann's interests were as vibrant as her spirit. In her youth, she enjoyed snow skiing and tennis. She found joy in knitting hats, mittens, sweaters, and blankets for family members and many others. There was always a blanket knitted with love awaiting the arrival of the next newborn grandchild or great grandchild. She enjoyed the simple pleasure of reading good novels and watching her favorite Netflix programs, especially re-runs from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Ann also looked forward to playing a good game of bridge with her friends. Another one of Ann’s interests was traveling with her friends and family which created many cherished memories.
One way Ann found to give back to the community was to knit hats for premature babies at local hospitals as well as participating in the relay for life cancer walks.
She is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law Karen and Aaron Iellimo of Califon, NJ; daughter, Kathryn Pyzik of Flemington, NJ; sons Stephen Pyzik and Chris Pyzik, both of Flemington, NJ; granddaughter and spouse, Ashley and Jack Endress of Asbury, NJ; grandson Brandon Pyzik of Flemington, NJ; granddaughter and Partner, Amber Iellimo and John Bates of Califon, NJ, grandson, Joshuah Davis-Pyzik of Flemington NJ, as well as her great-grandson, J.J. Bates; and her great-granddaughters, Heidi Endress and Leah Endress.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity, remembered fondly not only by her family but also by friends and acquaintances whose lives she touched with her kindness.
In addition to her parents, Ann was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Walker, and her brother, Cornelius John McGeechan.
A memorial service to honor Ann's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main St, Flemington, NJ 08822. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
