Aljeanette D. Kasper, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and sister, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, in Flemington, New Jersey, at the age of 85. Born on March 3, 1940, in Somerville, New Jersey, Aljeanette was the daughter of the late Pence Sipler, Jr. and Doris (Smith) Sipler. She was a graduate of the second class of Hunterdon Central High School in 1958 after attending the former Flemington High School.
Aljeanette dedicated her career to working in medical purchasing for a variety of area hospitals, and also in customer service at Johnson & Johnson in Piscataway, New Jersey, where she worked until her retirement in 2001. After retiring, she enjoyed a fulfilling life marked by her many interests and passions.
Known affectionately as "the original foodie," Aljeanette had a knack for discovering local restaurants and diners, where she often spent her time treating herself, family, and friends to her favorite meals. Her daily routine of enjoying ice cream was one of the many small pleasures she cherished. An avid country music fan, she frequently listened to her beloved artists, with “Seven Spanish Angels” being one of her song favorites. Aljeanette remained close to her high school friends, forming the “Lunch Bunch” for monthly gatherings that emphasized the importance of friendship and connection.
She lived in Manville, New Jersey, from 1978 to 2000, when she married Gustav Kasper and moved to Hunterdon County, where she resided until her passing. Over the years, she enjoyed wintering in Groveland, Florida, and was known for her active role in the lives of her two granddaughters, Casey Marie Zemanek and Taylor Anne Zemanek. She actively supported and was proud of her granddaughters' achievements in aviation, recently celebrating Casey's Multi-Engine license at the age of 23, and Taylor's Private Pilot license at the age of 17.
Aljeanette was also a passionate hobbyist, delighting in activities such as jigsaw puzzles and reading large-print novels, which she generously donated to local senior living centers. A bingo enthusiast, she enjoyed regular games at the Flemington Elks and took pride in her extensive collection of ceramic, porcelain, and glass turtles. Aljeanette was also a competitive bowler, having enjoyed many competitions, particularly at former local bowling lanes, including Airpark Lanes in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey.
In addition to her lively spirit and vibrant personality, Aljeanette is remembered for her love of animals. She took great care of her late dachshund, Shauna, and her cat, Baby.
Aljeanette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stan and Kristin Zemanek of Washington, New Jersey; her granddaughters, Casey and Taylor; her sister, Alberta (Sipler) Gano of Flemington, New Jersey; her nephew and niece, Harry and Kristy Gano; and her great-nephews, Colin and Ryan Gano, as well as several extended family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gustav Kasper, in 2018, and her stepdaughter-in-law, Helen “Sue” Kasper, in 2024.
The viewing will be held at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main St, Flemington, NJ, on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM officiated by the Rev.
