Alexander F. Keating, Sr.

October 4, 1912 — February 2, 1984

Alexander F. Keating, Sr., age 71 years, of Ranch Haven Road died Thursday, February 2, 1984 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Queens Village, Long Island, Mr. Keating was a resident of St. Albans, NY, before moving to Flemington in 1956. He retired in 1977 as plant manager for the Bemis Bag Company in Flemington.

A volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center, he was a member of the Flemington Elks Lodge No. 1928; a communicant of St. Magdalen Church in Flemington; a former member of the Hunterdon Welfare Board and the Raritan Township Municipal Utilities Authority. He formerly managed a baseball team in the South Hunterdon Little League.

Surviving are his wife, Amelia Schmadel Keating; two sons, Alexander Keating, Jr. and Robert Keating, both of Flemington; two daughters, Mary Matthews of Turnersville and Catherine Bush of Flemington; a brother, Joseph Keating of Garden City, Long Island; two sisters, Mary Klueg of Queens Village, Long Island, and Catherine Stahl of Floral Park, Long Island; and eight grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, Flemington. Interment was in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington.
