Ruth O. Pearson

Ruth O. Pearson, age 92 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at her residence.

Born in Scranton, PA, January 1, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary Harrison Ostrander. She had previously resided in Cherry Hill, NJ, moving to Delaware Township, NJ in 1961.

She was a secretary for an insurance company in Scranton, PA for many years. She was a poet who authored a book of poems and was also a painter. She was an eternal optimist.

She was a member of the NJ Poetry Society and the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church, Sergeantsville, NJ.

Her husband, Robert Pearson, died in 1998. A daughter, Mary Beth Gnagey, died in 1995. She is survived by two daughters; R. Virginia Horner of Southampton, NJ, and Deborah Meece of Franklin, TN; a sister, Bette Haggerty of Temecula, CA; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10 AM in the Sergeantsville United Methodist Church, Rosemont-Ringoes Road, Sergeantsville, NJ. Interment will be in Abington Hills Cemetery, Clark Summit, PA. There will be no calling hours.
