Born in Newark, NJ on February 5, 1889, he was the son of the late Robert H. and Ellen A. Hailes.

Mr. Hailes was a diner operator for many years.

He was survived by his wife, Margaret (Morgan) Hailes.

Interment in Union Cemetery, Boss Road, Ringoes, NJ.
