Raymond Augustus Frick, Sr. age 86 years, of the Pittstown section of Alexandria Township, NJ, died on March 2, 2005, at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Bloomfield, NJ, January 16, 1919, son of the late William French Frick and Gertrude Small Frick, he was a graduate of Bloomfield High School where he was a star athlete receiving All-State Honors in football and basketball. A graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania in 1941, he was the All-America center of the football team in 1940 and was also team captain. He was the University of Pennsylvania Man of the Year Distinguished Alumnus in 1957. He graduated from Harvard University Advanced Management Program in 1954.

He was a United States Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He served as a B-24 pilot and was shot down. He survived by parachute, and spent eleven months in a POW Camp in 1943-1944.

His entire business career was with Abex Corp with his final nineteen years there as President of the Railroad Products Group, and its predecessor company, American Brake Shoe Company. After retiring, he fulfilled his lifelong dream and purchased a horse farm, Chestnut Tree Farm, in Pittstown, NJ. He operated the farm for eight years with his daughter, Tracey Frick and partner, Stephanie Levick.

His wife, Betsy Osborne Frick, and two brothers, William Frick and Louis Frick, predeceased him. Mr. Frick is survived by four children and their families: Raymond A. Frick, Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth of Boston, MA, Gregory Frick and his wife, Iliana of Coral Gables, FL, Colonel Steve Frick and his wife, Donna, United States Air Force Chaplain, stationed in Germany, and Tracey Frick of Pittstown, NJ, and four grandchildren: Samantha, Channing, Daniel, and Stephanie Frick.

Funeral services and interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
