Nicholas Susalis, Sr., age 85 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Monday, March 21, 2005, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Staten Island, NY, November 29, 1919, he was the son of the late Garofalis and Victoria Delavasilis Susalis. He had resided in Readington Township, NJ for fifty years, having previously resided in Linden, NJ.
He was a Unted States Marine Corps veteran prior to World War II, and served with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.
He was the retired Chief of Security at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ, and later worked part-time at the Flemington Car and Truck Country.
He was a member of EAA, a recreational aviation club, based in Oshkosh, WI.
He is survived by his wife of over sixty years, Helen Garbus Susalis; a son, Nicholas Susalis, Jr., of Readington Township, NJ; a daughter, Lynn Miller, of Flemington, NJ; a brother, Christopher Susalis, of Juniper, FL; two sisters, Eva Forlenza of Staten Island, NY, and Stephanie Susalis of Eugene, OR; and a grandson, Bryan Miller, of Flemington, NJ.
Calling hours will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private.
