Kenneth N. Ball, Sr.

Kenneth N. Ball, Sr., age 69 years, of Avalon, NJ, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Chester, NJ, October 1, 1938, son of the late Kenneth P. Ball and Elizabeth Hughson Ball, he had resided in Avalon for the past ten years, having previously lived in Hillsborough Township, NJ most of his life.

He served his country as a veteran of the United States Army from 1961-1963.

He was an Electrical Inspector with Middle Department Inspection Agency, West Chester, PA, for thirty years, retiring in 1997.

He was Former Chief and Life member of the Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company, Neshanic Station, NJ. He was involved with many fundraising activities for the fire company, and particularly enjoyed running the Halloween haunted house, and for the past ten years was a member of he Avalon Volunteer Fire Department.

He enjoyed many hobbies, including boating, fishing, woodworking, Nascar racing, and model trains. He loved to travel with his family and friends around the country in his motor home.

Surviving are his wife of forty-seven years, Eleanor Vail Ball; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Douglas McNeil of Hillsborough Township, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth N. and Daryllynn Ball, Jr. of Hillsborough Township, NJ; and four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Christopher McNeil of Hillsborough Township, NJ, Carvin Gagliano of Rochester, NY and Roth Gagliano of Hillsborough Township, NJ, and many friends.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 1:30 PM in the Avalon United Methodist Church, 3875 Dune Drive, Avalon, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours.
