Jay E. Strausbaugh, age 78 years died February 25, 2016, at Brandywine Senior Living, in Princeton, NJ.
Born in Pottstown, PA, October 10, 1937, Jay is the son of the late Pearl Kerper Strausbaugh and the late Emory Strausbaugh. Jay raised his family in West Chester, PA, where he worked as a salesman for Benjamin Obdyke, in Warminster, PA.
During high school he played both football and basketball and as an adult he enjoyed bowling, carpentry, antiques, boating and deep sea fishing. He loved his family, his friends and his dog Mugsy. He was always ready with a joke or a helping hand. In his later years his hobbies included crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles and “chasing pretty girls”.
He was pre-deceased by his daughter Tracy Strausbaugh in 1988 and his second wife Patricia Strausbaugh in 2010.
Surviving is his daughter Elizabeth Oberman, his son-in-law, Seth Oberman and their three sons, Ian, Sean and Devin of Flemington, NJ; his sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Robert McDevitt of Pottstown, PA and his niece, Marcia Zeigler of Pottsgrove, PA. He is also survived by nephew William Adams of Boston, MA and niece Kimberly Johnson of NYC.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016, at 11 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be held on Monday, February 29, at 3:30 PM in Laurel Hill Cemetery, 3822 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia, PA. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Jay’s name may be made to Flemington Area Food Pantry, 154 NJ-31, Flemington, NJ 08822.
