Helen R. Scheier

Helen R. Scheier, age 79 years,of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, May 8, 2005, in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ. Born in Raritan township, NJ, August 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Veronica Tunela Romanauckas. She was employed in the Hunterdon County Court Clerk's Office, Flemington, NJ, retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Flemington, NJ. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Flemington Elks Lodge #1928. She was a 1943 graduate of Flemington High School. Her husband, John P. Scheier, died in 1975. She is survived by a son, John M. Scheier, and a daughter, Linda Martorano, both of Raritan Township, NJ; six grandchildren: Nicholas, Evan, and Jake Martorano, and Lily, John, and David Scheier, all of Raritan Township, NJ; a brother, John Romanauckas, of Little Falls, NJ; and three sisters, Vera Lafferty of Philadelphia, PA, Dorothy Basile of Somerset, NJ, and Barbara O'Hare of Hawthorne, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
