Born in Belfast, Ireland on June 9, 1877, he was the son of the late George and Mary Clayton.

He was a retired mechanical engineer.

George was predeceased by his wife, Laura (Farley) Clayton, who died in 1958.

Interment in Evergreen Cemetery, Elizabeth, NJ.
