Frank J. Faethe, Sr., age 71 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his home.
Born in Somerville, NJ on June 21, 1950, he was the son of the late Hans and Eva Godown Faethe. He had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ all his life.
As a young man, Frank served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1970-1972, until he was honorably discharged.
He then worked as a self-employed auto mechanic for most of his life. Additionally, he worked at Shine’s Garage, Flemington, NJ, for many years working on all kinds of vehicles.
Frank was an avid outdoorsman, who especially enjoyed deer hunting. He also loved classic cars and motorcycles. His family fondly remembers his kindness, saying, “his door was always open” when you needed something.
He was predeceased by his parents and five siblings: William Faethe, Hans Faethe, Ernest Faethe, Albert Faethe, and Laura Faethe.
Surviving are his wife of forty-six years, MaryAnn Binkley Faethe, of Kingwood Township, NJ; his two children, Lynn Shelton and her husband James, of Vineland, NJ and Frank J. Faethe, Jr. and his wife Kelly, of Milford, NJ; two grandchildren, Ava Grey Faethe and Lucas James Shelton; and five siblings, Charles Faethe and his wife Carryl, of Lititz, PA, Martha Nocera and her husband Joseph, of Wappingers Falls, NY, Susan Eng and her husband Tony, of Clarksburg, NJ, Nancy Jack and her husband Greg, of Flemington, NJ, and Tim Faethe and his wife Laura, of Orangeburg, SC, and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Immediately following the visitation there will be a funeral service at 4:00 PM to remember Frank. Burial of his ashes will take place on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11:00 AM in Rosemont Cemetery, Route 519, Rosemont, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home.
