Frank Bodnar

Frank Bodnar, age 83 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at his home.

Born in the Bronx, NY, June 29, 1936, son of the late Louis and Helen Laskay Bodnar, he had formerly resided in Plainfield, NJ and had resided in the Flemington area for fifty-four years.

Frank owned and operated Frank’s House of Coiffures in Flemington, NJ, for thirty-five years until retiring in 2000.

He served with the US Army from 1959-1962. Frank was a member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church and Flemington Elks Lodge #1928. He and his wife, Gerda, loved to travel and especially enjoyed visiting many U.S. National Parks. Frank was also an avid trap-shooter and enjoyed skiing, sailing, hunting and traveling.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-one years, Gerda Hoops Bodnar; a son Eric Bodnar and his wife, Nancy, of Washington Township, NJ; a daughter, Brenda Bodnar of Albuquerque, N. Mex.; two sisters, Barbara Alles of Denver, NC and Magdalene Storm of Boise, Idaho; two grandchildren, Lauren Bodnar and Alec Bodnar; and nieces and nephews.

A, memorial service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, May 22, 2021, in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
