Edna G. Van Zandt, age 76 years, of the Princeton Windrows Community, Plainsboro Township, NJ, died on Friday, June 24, 2005 at her residence.

Born December 24, 1928, in Albany, NY to the late Roy and Gertrude Nelson Gillett, she had resided in Plainsboro Township, NJ for the past five years, having previously lived in Flemington, Raritan Township, and Princeton, NJ.

Receiving her B.S. in Home Economics from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, Mrs. Van Zandt was formerly Credit Manager for Van Zandt Sales and Services, Raritan Township, NJ. She also was the former Volunteer Director at Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ and worked in Public Relations for the New York State Extension Service.

Mrs. Van Zandt was an active member of the Flemington Baptist Church, Flemington, NJ and the Nassau Presbyterian Church, Princeton, NJ. Additionally, she was a member of P.E.O. and the League of Women Voters, as well as a former member of the Citizen Housing Corp. of Raritan Township, a former Board Member of Habitat for Humanity, Trenton, NJ and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the Flemington Free Public Library.

Surviving are her husband of fifty-three years, Ed Van Zandt; two sons, David E. Van Zandt of Chicago, IL and Thomas R. Van Zandt of Redondo Beach, CA; two daughters, Mary V.Z. Wachterhauser of Havertown, PA and Shirley E. Van Zandt of Baltimore, MD; a brother, Roy L. Gillett of Oaklahoma City, OK; a cousin Bruce Layton of Baltimore, MD; six grandchildren; and two grand-cats.

Memorial Services will be held on SATURDAY, JULY 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Nassau Presbyterian Church, 61 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ. A reception will immediately follow at the Windrows Community, Plainsboro Township, NJ. Interment will be in Blawenburg Cemetery, Blawenburg, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
