Douglas K. Reichenbach, Sr., age 77 years, of Whiting, NJ, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2005, in the Doylestown Hospital, Doylestown, PA.
Born in South River, NJ, June 25, 1927, he was the son of the late William and Etta Sepp Reichenbach, Sr. He had resided in Flemington, NJ for many years prior to moving to Whiting, NJ three years ago.
He was a retired district claims manager with Harleysville Insurance Company, Somerset, NJ.
He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, and was a four year letterman in football.
He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.
He was a former member of the South River Recreation Committee, South River Little League, Past President of the South River Jaycees, Former Councilman in South River, a Charter Member of the South River Volunteer Fire Department-Summit Engine Company, and a Life Member of the South River Exempt Fireman's Association.
He was pre-deceased by his wife, Jeanne Riepl Reichenbach, and a brother, William Reichenbach, Jr. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Reichenbach, Jr. and Leslie Laird Reichenbach of Doylestown, PA; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and John G. Laub, Jr. of Copley, PA; a brother, Richard
Reichenbach of South River, NJ; and five grandchildren, J.D. and Trent Reichenbach, and John M., Stephanie, and Matthew Laub.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Summer Road, Three Bridges, NJ. Interment will be in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
