Doris M. Sipler

Doris M. Sipler, age 88 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died on Monday, November 26, 2007 in the Rolling Hills Care Center, Clinton Township, NJ where she had resided the past five years.

Born in Raritan Township, NJ, November 16, 1919, daughter of the late William and Mary Ellen Rake Smith, she had resided in the Flemington, NJ area all her life.

A retired employee of Bemis Bag Co., Flemington, NJ, she was also previously employed by Vic Mark Venetian Blind Company and by R.C.A.

A Charter Member of the Women of the Moose, Flemington, NJ, she was also a member of the Flemington Elks Lodge Ladies Auxiliary. A wonderful grandparent who enjoyed being around her grandchildren, she was an avid fan of Nascar Racing at the Flemignton Speedway and also of Winston Cup Racing. She enjoyed bingo and assisted in the bingo kitchens of both the Flemington-Raritan Rescue Squad and of St. Magdalen Church.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Pence Louis Sipler, Jr. in 1993; a granddaughter, Allyssa May Gano; and her siblings, Francis Smith, Lucy Smith, Mary Milligan, William (Pete) Smith, George Smith and Mazie Morgan.

Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Alberta and Harry Gano of Flemington, NJ and Aljeanette (Zemanek) and Gustav Kasper of Annandale, NJ; two grandsons and their wives, Boyne and Kristin Zemanek of Washington, NJ and Harry and Kristi Gano, Jr. of Flemington, NJ; three great grandchildren, Casey Marie Zemanek, Colin Patrick Gano and Ryan Joseph Gano; six sisters, Annie Church of Groton, NY, Edith Thatcher and Bessie Beil, both of High Bridge, NJ, Betty Smith of Flemington, NJ, Hazel Novak of Trenton, NJ and Katherine Byrne of Granville Summit, PA; and two brothers, Charles Smith of Flemington, NJ and Jacob Smith of Oxford, NJ.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ.
