Dennis W. Compton, age 75 years, of Nazareth, PA died on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born in Flemington, NJ on September 2, 1945, son of the late Gerald and Norma Houck Compton, he had resided in the Flemington area most of his life. However from 1980-1987, he resided in Wisconsin, where he operated a dairy farm. Then in 2014, he moved from Flemington to Oregon and then finally he moved to Nazareth, PA in 2017 where he lived the remainder of his life.
Dennis was a 1963 graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional High School and was an electrician formerly employed by Bihler of America until retirement.
He was a member of the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Nazareth, PA and was a former member of the Flemington Fire Department and the Flemington Elks Lodge #1928.
Dennis was a motorcycle enthusiast who, with his wife Ruth, travelled throughout the United States and Canada. He also loved gardening and the outdoors.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Ruth Fedelchak Compton; a daughter, Jennifer Burns, of Birdsboro, PA and two sons, Matthew Compton, of Philomath, OR and Jeremy Compton, of Belvidere, NJ; seven grandchildren, Griffin Burns, Marissa Burns, Kael Compton, Porter Compton, Odin Compton, June Compton, and Casey Compton, as well as his brother, Barry Compton, of Doylestown, PA, and his sister, Kathleen Buchholz, of San Antonio, TX.
Private family services will be held in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be a public graveside service and a celebration of his life in the summer at a date and time to be determined.
