Anna B. Rogers, age 84 years, of East Amwell Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at the New Jersey Order of the Eastern Star Home, Bridgewater Township, NJ.
Born in Newark, NJ, July 13, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Helga Perrson Benson. She had previously resided in Basking Ridge, NJ from 1952 through 1998.
She retired from Prudential Insurance Company in 1955 after working eighteen years as a research clerk. She was a member of the Lincoln Chapter 95 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Caldwell, NJ since 1942, serving as Matron in 1946. She graduated from Columbia High School, Maplewood, NJ in 1937.
Her late husband, George M. Rogers, died in 1998. She was also predeceased by a brother, Corporal Herbert Benson, who died in the battle at Guadalcanal in 1942. She is survived by a son, John B. Rogers, of East Amwell Township, NJ; a daughter, Jane Rogers Shavel, of North Yarmouth, ME; and four grandchildren: Corporal Derek Rogers, USMC, Mark Rogers, Kate Shavel, and Jesse Shavel.
Graveside servcices will be held at 10 AM Saturday at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
