Obituary for Robert J. Schenck

Robert J. Schenck, age 76 years, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Brakeley Park Center, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Born in Piscataway, NJ, October 12, 1939, son of the late Robert P. and Sophie Earner Schenck, he had formerly resided in Locktown, NJ.

A Dunellen High School graduate, Robert worked as a produce merchandiser for Twin County Grocers in Edison, NJ. A historic preservationist, he also worked as an antique dealer.
Robert was a member of the Locktown Grange #88; Locktown Stone Church: and the Pohatcong History and Heritage Society.

Surviving him are his wife of fifty-five years, Mary Schenck; two children, Joe Schenck of Phillipsburg, NJ and Nadine Genrich of Morristown, NJ and three grandchildren, Robert Schenck of Flemington, NJ and Elyse and Owen Genrich both of Morristown, NJ.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions in Roberts name may be made to the Pohatcong History & Heritage Society, Pohatcong Township, NJ or Friends of the Locktown Stone Church, Inc., PO Box 264, Sergeantsville, NJ 08557.
