Lester V. Rockafellow

FLEMINGTON, NJ - Lester V. Rockafellow, age 71 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Trenton, NJ, June 30, 1938, he was the son of the late Lester S. and Grace Van Dyke Rockafellow.

He was a 1956 graduate of Flemington High School, and a United States Navy veteran serving from 1958-1961 at the Great Lakes Station and the Philadelphia Naval Hospital. He was a recipient of the Hunterdon County Veterans Award, and also was an Eagle Scout.

He was a retired pipeline technician with Texas Eastern, Mount Airy, NJ.

He was the President of the Chorus of the Alumni of the Flemington Children's Choir School; member of the Phillipsburg Railroad Historians; the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society; and a member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are several cousins.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 11:30 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 7-9 PM in the funeral home.
